On the front, the northern part of Laos, which extends from Vientiane, the capital, at the Chinese border. Detailed plans for Vientiane and Louang Prabang, the Temple Ville, are included on this side, as well as portions of Thailand and Vietnam.
On the back, the southern part of Laos, including a good part of Vietnam, and indicating all border crossings. Much of Thailand had to be hidden, unfortunately, to make room for the index of place names, but the immediate border areas are shown, including the railway line south of Vientiane.
The rear cover consists of a detailed map of Vientiane at 1/16,000 scale, which facilitates its use in town without having to unfold the map.
